A funny name but a rather serious and tasty wine. I got this one on the cheap at World Market in a bin clearing sale, maybe you can too. But be prepared to let this one breath for 30 minutes or so beforehand. It's a clear, bright violet-purple wine with lots of depth and some structure too. There's a lot of berry notes to be had, both with your nose and palette. It's a moderately dry wine, with good acidity and, with some aeration beforehand, well modulated tannins, providing a nice balance, and medium finish. Overall, I like this one for dinner than sipping. Not really better on the second day, so drink up. 2 Up |
