A surprisingly good effort for a "house" wine. It's available at Whole Foods at a very down to earth price, unlike say, their produce. It's a wine with a really deep, clear and bright ruby-violet color. There are some nice berry notes to the wine, with good finish and balance. There's also plenty of acidity and astringency but it doesn't quite get in the way of your enjoyment of this one. A good dinner wine and perhaps a good sipping wine too. Best slightly chilled (50 degrees) and some aeration of the wine beforehand will help. 360 Paul Valmer |
