I really like to buy single bottle fancy beers, Dogfish Head 120, Fullers ESB, Double IPAs and some other really odd stuff. However most of the time they are warm when bought and my normal solution is to put them in the refrigerator overnight (waiting! no....!) or putting them in a bowl of ice and water and waiting an hour. Rating: - better way than this with salt
I almost bought this until I remembered on the show Mythbusters that they used ice, water and salt to chill a beer in a very short amount of time. I did this with a whole case of beer and had the whole case very very cold in a matter of 2 or 3 minutes. Just rinse the salty water off unless you like that kind of taste with beer.

Rating: - Chilled a Bottle Just Like It Said
I purchased this item for my husband for father's day 2009. He finally used it two weeks ago to chill a bottle of wine. It was easy to set up but I found it to be a bit louder than I expected. However, the wine bottle was super cold. I was impressed with how fast it chilled the bottle. Here's what would be GREAT....if the this technology could be installed into my fridge. That way, I would not have to pull out the chiller, set it up, then empty to allow to dry before I put it up again.

Rating: - Tip - Add salt to Ice for better cooling
I've owned a cooper cooler for a few years now. After reading others reviews most seem to praise the cooler for what it does - cool stuff fast.

My 2 Cents:

As a tip I found adding salt to the ice and water creates an extra cold slush that lasts longer and chills the bottles & cans much quicker as the salt helps the ice water keep extra cold.
