Something of an anomaly. It's more like a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio than a Chardonnay. Perhaps the 2nd or 3rd bottle you might open for total strangers! It's a very pale straw-yellow wine with little for your nose and even less taste for your palate. There's some sweetness here, but nothing much beyond that. And worse, not much fruitiness either. There's little oak that would at least suggest this wine never saw a cask. This wine plays more like a blanc or a pinot grigio than an Chardonnay. My suggestion: serve very chilled. On a hot day! And it's the 2nd or 3rd bottle! Barefoot |
