Frankly, consider giving this piece of hardware to your worst enemy! It's that bad. Yes, it will open the bottle, but mangle the cork and try your patience in the process! Although it's a likable hunk of plastic with sleek and modern looks, it just can't seem to do the job well. A good corkscrew should be easy to use, not be too expensive, and do the job with aplomb. This one really doesn't. This corkscrew is the model with "wings" attached to make it easier to leverage the cork from the bottle. My chief gripe is that you can't really center the thing onto the bottle opening, allowing for the corkscrew to do it's job to pull the cork out. Partly because you must "open" the wings to expose the corkscrew to start the process and that may cause you to miss seating the unit to complete for the next step. I've destroyed many a cork with this model. A better approach may be to (for the price) buy a really good waiter's corkscrew and learn to use it properly. Don't bother with this one.
