For the price, pretty good. A bit more punch might be nice and it's better the 2nd and 3rd day too (a plus), but use a wine preserver (a shot of Nitrogen.) I've only found this at Whole Foods (so far.) It's a clear, bright, light colored ruby colored wine. There are some light to medium berry notes to the wine both for your nose and palette and it's a wine better the 2nd day or 3rd than the first. So some extra breathing time might be needed on the initial opening. The wine has the feel of a Pinot Noir. It's not as intense as other Merlots but there is a nice balance and good finish with smooth tannins and a pleasing acidity. Overall a good sipping wine but with a light lunch, it could be used in a pinch there too. And for a crowd for the holidays, it could be a really cheap choice! Harthill Farms |
