For seven dollars and a blended wine you could do a lot worse than this one. Certainly a better wine than the Joe Blow Chardonnay tasted earlier. I’ve not tasted anything quite like this since the Relax Red I had a while back. Enjoy some today! It’s a clear, bright, medium to deep ruby-violet wine. There are some definite berry notes to this wine (blackberry with maybe some raspberry) which follow through onto your palette. There’s a nice acidity here as well as some astringency that, along with not too much sweetness, give this wine a nice balance if a short to medium finish. There aren’t any off notes to this one. Sure it’s a blend, but as it turns out the vintners did a pretty good job with this one. Grade: B Price $7 Joe Blow |
