Lapis Luna 2005 Chardonnay California

A Chardonnay that didn't really grab me. You might like it however.

It's a rather deep straw-yellow color wine, with plenty of buttery oak for your taste buds, and some tree fruit (apple, with perhaps a pear note or two.) In a glass it really looks like apple juice, with no structure to it, and a bit of mineral aftertaste. As a 2005 I wondered if age had diminished its punch.

The wines of Lapis Luna are the result of a unique relationship we have established with several family owned vineyards in northern California's premium grape growing regions. We are involved in all aspects from the grape to the bottle, and thus able to ensure that our wines are of the highest quality. This Chardonnay has a rich mouth feel, with aromas and flavors reminiscent of pineapple and butterscotch. The finish is clean and crisp with a hint of citrus.
