Martha Stewart 2006 Chardonnay California

You know, it's hard not to think about the Christmas Specials, her daily show, and her most recent incarceration when reviewing this wine. But, we must persevere, with objectivity!

It's a clear, bright if pale, straw-yellow wine without much structure to it. There's something of a tree fruit spin to this wine, but with very little structure. It's pleasant enough, but really, it needs some punch to take it to the next level. It has some oakiness and an OK balance and finish, but it's the 2nd or 3rd bottle of wine to serve, not the first. Some other choices might be Harthill Farms Chardonnay and Crane Lake Chardonnay both for about the same price.
