It was a "bin" find at a local World Market. Thirty percent off the usual price of $16 and although I'm not a Cab fan, this one isn't bad. Although it's four years old already, a couple more years might help this one. It's a clear, bright ruby-violet colored wine with a medium to deep depth. There's plenty of berry notes for your nose, blackberry perhaps, that follow through to your palette. It's relatively dry red (but not overly so), with some tannin kick at the end (but again not too much). This makes for a relatively balanced wine with a medium to long finish. I would think it would be acceptable as a sipping wine for most Cab lovers and good with just about any robust (I thinking beef here) dinner. Robert Strong |
