This Shiraz has a good clear ruby colour, with some moderate depth. It’s got no viscosity to speak of however. It has some definite berry notes (blackberry, black current, raspberry) with some spice and perhaps earthy undertones. The berry notes show up on the palette with some moderate acidity. There’s not a lot of sweetness here, but that doesn’t seem to have affected the balance much overall. This all leaves a slightly astringent finish but it’s not unpleasant. For my book (and for a Shiraz) it could go well by itself, or with a meal that needs a red wine to complement it.
