I'll be honest, not my first choice for a Pinot Noir, especially for the price. Some other Pinot's for the same price, Hob Nob 2006 and Little Black Dress 2006 and if you want to spend more (a lot more) Block 906 NV. It's a clear, bright albeit light colored, ruby-garnet wine, with a bit-o-structure to it. In place of the berry notes you might expect for this wine we have something of a more herbaceous quality both for your nose and palette. There also might be a earthy quality too, but that seems to be further in the background. It has moderate acidity and astringency with a short finish and and OK balance, and with a bit-o-harshness at the very end. For this one, more aeration doesn't seem to help, either. Definitely more of a dinner wine. Z'ivo |
